Stood back
Took a closer look
And realized life was on loop.
Moments were broken
Feelings wide apart
I was racing.
Fantasized life to be a competition
Thrusting others to fall
Vanquishing as a sore loser
I had lost
Lost in the game of life
Toppled as if never to fall again
Though I stood up
Not as a competitor but as a survivor
Thankful for a life so fortunate
And admired life as it had to be.
