A step and then another,

I gathered myself and pulled up further,

To mountains that lay ahead,

And nothing more that needs to be said.

But days until the day,

When the eyes finally met the array,

Before I know,

My feet fidget no more.

Frozen, I fall straight,

And then end up in a hospital bed,

I cry, wail and remorse,

But then comes the dark horse

As the TV light falls on my eyes,

My dream had bargained for my life,

As the valley had just gone through,

A mountain landslide.
