A Twenty-first Century Classroom

– Alvina Parvez

Walls of I, a twenty-first century classroom.

There is no end to this story, just as there is no beginning. Youthful souls come and go, fill me and empty me, hold me close, hold me dear but most of all, they never truly let go.

I witnessed juvenile buds unearthing the concealed intricacies of their own existence.

I witnessed these intricacies tangle with those belonging elsewhere.

I witnessed the seamless mirth of these young souls, pouring inside themselves the valour to put one foot in front of the other.

I witnessed them cajoling, frisking, warming me from within and warming me for all of eternity. Decades will fly by, just as their own days.

But I’ll be right here.

They will narrate the tales from their sojourn here, brimming with laughter and joy, so much the same but not the same at all.

And I will know.

I will know.

  I like this!
