Fluttering eyelids,
Stretching out of arms,
An innocent stupor,
An oblivious ignorance of qualms.
Slipping into consciousness,
Waking with a yawn,
The faint chirping of birds,
The tell-tale arrival of dawn.
Unaware of the value
And of the transience of the moment.
Of the sun behind the blinds,
The real world, a flash, a figment.
