The sea breeze trickles down my lungs–
The taste of the sand lingers in the air.
I walk barefoot,
Back and forth, the soft beach trickling between my toes.
I perch beside the seagull ashore with cold drops of sweetened ice dripping down my arm.
I hold the light wooden stick from one end trembling from the anticipation.
I draw out the sour sweetness from the chunk of ice
And the coolness slips down the warmth of my throat.
The acidity of kala khatta plays a resounding symphony with the sweetness.
Just as the ocean soothes the warm sand,
The harmony of this piquant combination of flavours settles on my dried tongue and pacifies my soul.
