The trees are turning yellow and the sky is getting dark,
Our hopes are getting cold and are starting to lose their spark.

It’s a strange night, I wonder while looking out my window,
While the global population is suffering, I observe the earth glow.

It didn’t take long for me to realize why the little sparrow sang with joy,
It was the Earth’s revenge on the population and the pandemic was its ploy.

It’s ironic that only after so much devastation we start to care about the Earth, our own home,
They say it wasn’t built in a day, but in moments earth destroyed Rome.

I have a tear in my eye yet a disappointed smile crosses my face,
When will we ever learn, we can never outsmart the earth’s pace.
