The entrance to the catacombs. Pro tip: Don’t look up pictures of the insides. I learnt that the hard way.
If Annabelle: Creations did not make you shudder, this definitely will. Beneath the city of dazzling lights, lies a cemetery with many twists and turns that stretch hundreds of miles and *drumrolls* hold the remains of more than six million Parisians.
Rumours say that the catacombs—underground cemeteries consisting of walls with bones stacked on top of each other—have secret entrances all across the city of Paris and are frequented by “Cataphiles” who use them to explore the dark ossuaries of the city. Creepy? Maybe. Interesting? Definitely.

Eternal Flame Falls
Somewhere in a cosy corner of New York’s unblinking city lights, you can see and smell a dancing flame behind the cascade of the Eternal Flame Falls. Geologists claim that this phenomenon is due to methane, a natural gas that silently seeps out of a crack in the floor and ignites the flame that has baffled many. The exact origin of the gas that lights up behind the waterfall is still surprisingly unknown.
Crumbling Wonderlands

Wonderland, Beijing. Creepy.
Do you think the Bermuda Triangle is possibly the most eerie place to exist? Think again. Colours, laughter and bright lights make up the pandemonium that lingers in every amusement park. Forgotten Ferris wheels and desolate carousels, however, do not.
Left to rust and fade away with time, Wonderland is an abandoned theme park on the outskirts of Beijing, What was supposed to be Asia’s largest amusement park is now an adventure park for vandals and curious tourists. If you are feeling particularly adventurous (read badass), Wonderland is the perfect place to visit.
Area 51
Category: Every science-fiction-slash-conspiracy-theory-geek’s dream come true.
Area 51, allegedly. Is it weird that I want this as a wallpaper?
A military-based located almost a hundred kilometres away from Las Vegas, Area 51 is a site that does not exist on the United States’ geological maps. Heavily guarded, remote, and the inspiration for many horror movies—rumours regarding this military installation range from experiments on captured aliens to the development of crazy, out-of-the world technology, including teleports and time travel machines.
Many people found snooping around the area have been reported missing by family members, so unless you are planning to vanish without a trace, Area 51 is one place from which you should definitely stay away.
What are you waiting for? Grab a bag, book your tickets, and get that passport stamped. Adventure awaits.
