In the scorching heat

they walk.

In the thundering rain

they walk.

Blisters appear and smiles disappear.

But they have to reach,

so they walk.

Hunger becomes their new friend

And water their worst enemy

but they walk.

Four becomes three, three becomes two

Soon it’ll change to one—

but they walk.

In the distance a home is there

And people who care for them

so they walk.

The pain becomes too much

But they have to reach,

so they wa—

The sky weeps for the millionth time.
