The Traveller’s Song – Pankhuri Joshi

I met a traveller

Long ago

Seeds of curiosity

They sow

She told me the sunshine

Never mentioned the rain

She told me paths divine

Never mentioned the pain

She told me about the beauty

Of this mystical terrain

She told of the mighty

But never the vain

And while some may say it’s cheating

Just a way to make fame

Hiding the bad parts, deceiving

Once I started travelling, I did the same

It’s not that you stray

It’s just that you forget

While narrating the glorious pathway

The pain is just a step.
